1st Tutorial - Koda Kumi
As requested by [info]theshadowlover here is it my first tutorial ^^
Go from to   using color balance and channel mixer. I use photoshop CS but i'm sure it's translatable^^

1) First take your base. sharpen if you want, then duplicate the layer and set on screen.

2) Now go to layers -> new adjustment layer -> color balance
Midtones: -100; -100; +100
Shadows: -100; +100; +100
Highlights: -10; +51; -100

3) Layers -> new adjustment layer -> channel mixer
Output channel Red: Red 114%
Output channel Blue: Blue 66%

4) Then duplicate it and grab it on top. set to Soft light, 100%.

Here is it^^

if the second step doesn't work for you try this:

5E93FF on color burn
FD6CEA on soft light

suggested by [info]ihearttoronto. Thanks! n__n

This coloring is beautiful. I really want to achieve it but I can't. After the color balance part, I just don't get the results you get. I re-checked that I entered the numbers correctly 11 times (I'm using CS2). It turns out nasty green-blue-ish. >.<
I wonder if anyone else has had trouble?

Yeah, I had that problem too (I'm using PSP8). I screwed with it a bit and the end effect was still cool.

i think it's because of the coloring of your base. can you show me your result?

ack, i made a mistake.

what i meant to say, what i changed the highlight settings to -10 -51 +100, and i didn't use the shadow settings. then at the end i did an automatic saturation layer.

hey guys, if #2 doesn't work, try this instead:

5E93FF on color burn
FD6CEA on soft light

pretty close. :)

the end result is pretty much the same.

of course, it depends with your original image.

The colors on this are gorgeous but I need to find some pictures that are pinkish to start with. I used it on a picture that I tinted pinkish/purplish before duplicating and sharpening and that seemed to help a bit. I think it was just a nice picture to start with and the colors worked incredibly with it. Regardless, thanks for the great tutorial. :D

ok I finally got this to come as close to yours as possible in PSP9

I duplicated the base twice instead of once.
Set 1 to Soft Light and the other to Screen
Then after the Color Balance layer, I added a Soft Light Layer of #fd6cea.

Love the coloring and glad I could make it work in PSP9 =)
